Characters & Organizations of Vaerinor

The series Arcane Magic takes place on the continent of Vaerinor and within the Rift. Below is a list of notable characters and organizations.

• Arch Mage Afekius is one of the four Arch Mages with the Order of the Unseen who oversee the island of Atheneum. He acts as a protector for Raor.

• Arch Mage Eliat was the founder of the High Council of the Order of the Unseen. He is deceased. During his lifetime, he made many observations on the Rift and magic, writing them in a book known as the Tome of the Magi.

• Arch Mage Ethon is one of the four Arch Mages of the Order of the Unseen who oversees the island of Atheneum and the perceived head Arch Mage of Atheneum. He opposses Raor‘s position and inclusion in the Order of the Unseen.

• Arch Mage Isolda is one of the four Arch Mages of the Order of the Unseen who oversees the island of Atheneum.

• Arch Mage Ohim is one of the four Arch Mages of the Order of the Unseen who oversees the island of Atheneum.

• Askol Tizri was the best known elven assassin in the history of the White Elves. He was also Dramna‘s mentor.

• Assassin’s Guild is an organization of the elves. After the elves’ near total defeat under Oko the Despoiler, the Assassin’s Guild was formed in order to maintain the balance of the world by removing threats.

• Bescu is a chieftain of the Ember Dwarves who has gained significant power as he works to become the third Wielder of Wrath.

• Christiana Balask is the Royal Trader in the Kingdom of Redron. This makes her the second most powerful person in the kingdom after King Jerama.

• Deathbringer is a subcult of the dwarves who devoutly worship the God of Death, Xoda. They are said to reach a point of ecstasy in battle, killing anyone or anything in their path.

• Dramna Etzo is a White Elf who is a member of the elven Assassisn’s Guild and works as an instructor along with fellow teacher Phairn Maldo.  Within the Assassin’s Guild, she is known as Shadow. She is engaged to Ubrhi Tavvron.

• Fiana Gaiallard is the older sister of Raor Gaiallard and the only living member of his family.

• Gray Agent—this is the name given to members of the private military of the Order of the Unseen. They wear full face coverings and leather armor. Part of their role is to pick up children with magic potential and bring them for training in Atheneum.

• The God Speaker is an ancient being said to be a descendent of either the gods or possibility one of the last offspring of the ancient Realm Wanderers. He is an ice fiend that lives in caverns beneath the Citadel of Far-Seeing. With a gift for foresight, he directs the elven Assassin’s Guild to target those who have the potential to upset the balance of the world.

• King Jerama is the ruler of the Kingdom of Redron. After negotiating a deal with the dwarves for more boots needed in the mining of aqualunite, his mental state has become increasingly aggressive.

• Koss Mal is an Ember Dwarf who has abandoned the violent ways of his people and is attempting to live amoung humans as a blacksmith in the city of Amazal.

• Lacah the Unyielding was the second dwarven Wielder of Wrath. He entered the Rift as the annointed dwarven champion and received Otano’s blessings of a toothed machete for a left arm and eternal life as a vampire.

• Doctor Legrimm manages the hospital located in Sandom, the Kingdom of Redron. She continues the potentially unethical experiments started by her predecessor, Dr. Petra.

• Meznon Rize is a Master Assassin of the elven Assassin’s Guild.

• Naghda is a dwarven woman who strongly supports Bescu and his bid to become the next Wielder of Wrath. He uses her important assignments and to lead divisions of the clans he controls.

• Niveen’s Chosen are a group of elven priests and priestesses who give the Goddess Niveen’s blessing to the elves, especially before venturing out on ships.

• Oko the Despoiler was the first dwarven Wielder of Wrath. He entered the Rift and returned with the dark blessing of eternal life as a vampire. Leading the united dwarven army, he led an attack of the White Elves, nearly exterminating them before being overcome with hunger for magic to sustain his form.

• Order of the Unseen is the organization of mages in the Kingdom of Magiana. It is run by the High Council of Arch Mages and is considered to be even more powerful than the king.

• Otano’s blade is a strong subcult of the dwarves, who fanatically worship the Goddess Otano.

• Phairn Malda is an instructor with the elven Assassin’s Guild. Dramna is his teaching partner.

• Raor Gaiallard is a Master Scholar with the Order of the Unseen after having abandoned his mage apprenticeship. His older sister is Fiana Gaiallard.

• Rosalyn Cotenwol is a librian with the Order of the Unseen after having failed her mage apprenticeship.

• Sarus, the Hermit, is a former Arch Mage who participated in the capture of Lacah and his transportation for cryogenic freezing in the southern mountains. Lacah freed himself long enough to feed on Sarus’ magic, draining him completely. While many feel he died after burying Lacah, some say he still lives as a hermit in the mountains.

• Ubhri Tavvron is the fiancé of Dramna Etzo. He is a member of the elven army.

• Viper is a feared Gray Agent belonging to the Order of the Unseen and is often seen carrying a trident.
